Join us at Big Ocean Dive for our 3D2N “Ocean Quest” Coral Propagation Course + Trip @ Perhentian, where you’ll not only get to explore the beauty of the ocean, but also make a real impact in preserving it’s future.
As a scuba diver, you understand the importance of coral reefs and the role it plays in our ocean’s ecosystem. Unfortunately, these precious habitats are facing many threats, including climate change, overfishing, and pollution. That’s why we’re excited to offer you the opportunity to join us on a unique and meaningful trip to help propagate corals and give them a better chance at survival.
We depart to Perhentian. Once there, we check-in, assemble at the dive centre for briefing and then proceed with our OceanQuest Course
We gather at the dive centre to go through our OceanQuest Coral Propagation. Once that's done, we will do a few dives to practice what we have learnt!
On our final day, we debrief and checkout before making our way back home.
At Big Ocean Dive, we are certified by Anuar (the founder of Ocean Quest) and use Ocean Quest Global training and methods to rehabilitate coral reefs. You will learn about the 5 Stages of Coral Reef Rehabilitation, which are:
1. Coral Rescue 2. Coral Propagation 3. Nursery Development, monitoring and management 4. Coral Transplantation 5. Coral Reef Management
Our experienced instructors will take you to future coral nurseries, where you'll be able to assist in the propagation process. You'll learn how to cultivate and transplant healthy coral fragments, ensuring the survival and growth of these vital habitats. This is a hands-on, meaningful experience that will leave you with a sense of purpose and satisfaction, knowing that you've made a positive impact on the ocean and it's inhabitants.
In addition to the coral propagation experience, you'll also get to explore the vibrant underwater world and encounter a variety of marine life, including colorful fish, sea turtles, and more. With crystal-clear waters, abundant sea life, and breathtaking landscapes, our Ocean Quest Coral Propagation trip is an unforgettable experience that combines adventure, education, and conservation.

You can bring along some snacks, extra cash for mini bars, beers and any additional tourism taxes that may apply. If you own any dive gear then you can bring that along as well!

We do not recommend doing the pool sessions during the trip as everybody has a different learning pace. So the trip’s duration might not be enough for you to complete the training and get certified.
Sure, we can make arrangements for private trips for you and your family. Just let us know the location you would like to dive and we will propose the resort and dive arrangements.
